I have received 3 error messages after the review. This was a part of my Fidelity download into my tax form. They pertain to foreign taxes (1099-DIV, Schedule B):
1. Check This Entry - Schedule B – Form 1099-DIV (National Financial Services LLC) – Foreign Tax SCH A box or form 1116 copy should be entered. Return to the place where this was entered to correct the entry. (Since this is part of a download from Fidelity, I don't know where this was entered)
2. Check This Entry – Form 1099-DIV (National Financial Services LLC) – Foreign source amount must be entered.
3. Check This Entry – Form 1116 (Copy 1) Foreign Tax Credit Comp Weeks: Paid/Accrued Boxes must be entered. No entry, Method Paid, Method Accrued.
I'd like any help as to where I go to enter this info.
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
If you manually enter a 1099 form with Foreign Tax, TurboTax automatically puts the tax you paid into the Foreign Tax Credit section for you.
Since you imported your financial info, that may not have happened properly.
Type 'foreign tax credit' in the Search area, then click on 'Jump to foreign tax credit' to get to this area.
For 'country' use RIC (Regulated Investment Company) when reporting Foreign Tax/Income in this section.
Click this link for more info on the Foreign Tax Credit on Form 1116.
