I just installed my Desktop version of Turbotax 2025. It asked me if I wanted to switch to the online version as you say it's better. I have dozens of charitable contributions that are entered in Quicken, and the desktop version of Turbotax can import these seamlessly.
It seems that Turbotax online cannot import from Quicken, so how is Turbotax online better if you have dozens of charitable contributions to enter?

Right, the Online version does not import from Quicken. 10/20/25 Turbo Tax Announcement. There are special and new features if you have to switch to the Online version.but it doesn’t look like it includes Charity donations.
TurboTax Windows 10 Desktop Software End of Life
And if you use the Online version your info is only saved Online. You will need to download the pdf file and the .tax2025 data file when you are done.
Thanks. I am not sure what the end-of-life notice has to do with this, since I am running Windows 11, which will continue to support TT Desktop.
You asked....how is Turbotax online better..... I was just pointing out the new features that Online has over the Desktop program.
Thank you.
Does anyone have any experience entering dozens of charitable donations into TurboTax Online? Is there a way to upload them even if Quicken import is not possible.
If someone from Intuit is reading this, if you really mean this to be a better way that Desktop, what are your plans to address this limitation?

I'm not sure what the program said, but Online is absolutely NOT better. It is inferior in many ways. Intuit tries to push the online version because it is more profitable for them. The only way online could possibly be considered as better is that your information is on the cloud rather than your personal computer, which MIGHT have some advantages (but depending on your viewpoint, could possibly be viewed as a disadvantage as well).
