I have opened my Turbotax today and Yesterday and the updates that happened yesterday did not solve this problem. I can't even find form 8915-E in my copy of Turbo tax. The form that had been used for my 1099-R was Form 5329. Where do I get form 8915-E
If you are using Turbo Tax Deluxe software, this feature is not available yet because the form 8915-E that allocates the distribution is not available yet. The projected date when this is available in 02/26. Once available, your software will update automatically and you should be able to claim the 401k tax deferral feature.
Please sign-up here and we will email you once the form is live. Once it is live then, you will edit your 1099R and scroll through the screens until you see a screen that says Tell us if any of these uncommon situations apply. Here you will select the first choice I took out this money because of a qualified disaster (includes COVID-19).
Thanks for the answer. I had seen on my Turbotax that it said 2/26 but was confused because on here, people had said the update will be 2/24. I will try it today and hopefully it works.
