E-file of Mail Amended Return

For 2025 taxes: If I originally e-filed my return through TurboTax, but later needed to amend that return through TurboTax do I have to e-file it or can I mail it into the IRS?

You can either e-file the amended return or you can print and mail the amended return.  The choice is yours.  However, e-filing for a 2025 return and amended returns closes after October 15, 2026.

Thank you for your reply. I was told previously that, "An amended return, Form 1040-X, can only be printed and mailed to the IRS if the original tax return was not e-filed". I did e-file the original but, I will be needing to mail the amended return because I will need to include a form that is paper only. So I need to know definitively that I can mail my amended return.

You can mail it, you are not required to efile it.
