Does turbo tax have a hard time identifying VIN numbers? I donated a car last year and the software will not take my VIN number

So I am stuck on the Charitable Donations step because it keeps saying "Correct the information"

No matter what I do, I flat out an can not create a problem with donating a car for which I got a 1099-C for. I would suggest you completely delete the item from charitable donations, and re-enter it anew.

Your question is being posted from the Free Edition.   Are you actually using a higher version of the software that supports itemized deductions?   Your donation will not make any difference unless you have enough total itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction.   Do you have other itemized deductions like mortgage interest or property tax to enter?   If not, the car donation is not going to make a difference.
