Dependent tuition payments

My daughter is 29 and a full time graduate student. I provide for all her expenses. She has no income and no student load. Totals about $50,000 per year. It does not appear that i can deduct any portion of this.

Dependent tuition payments

She is not eligible for the American Opportunity Credit because she is a graduate student. She might be eligible for the Lifetime Learning credit as a dependent on your tax return if you and she meet the qualifications. There is an income limit for whoever claims the credit on their tax return.  Income limits for taking the Lifetime Learning Credit for 2019 are $58,000 for single filers and $116,000 for those filing a married filing jointly return.
