Claiming the Moving Expense

Hello,

Can someone claim the moving expense deduction if they didn't have a job before they moved? Say they got a job 1 month after they moved? They would satisfy the 39 out of 52 weeks rule and the distance rule.

Sorry, moving expenses are not deductible on a federal tax return unless you are active military on Permanent Change of Station orders.
