The whole point of using tax software is that I don't have to type all the info in.
If the import feature is wonky, Turbo Tax needs to fix it.
Because I guarantee you my financial institutions don't list me as a foreign resident.
This is an unacceptable answer.
And not how you get repeat customers.
Thank you for the only easy & useful fix to TurboTax's bug.
YES! Click the transfer checkbox, select any country, then select "not applicable" and everything turns from red to blue. Thank you!!!
See simple workaround by IowaMarc below. Just select and deselect a country.
Exact same problem with my return. did anyone have any ideas?

See solution by IowaMarc in this topic.
Very annoying for this 1NPR, it indicate the country , but the drop down button are all US states. That make me not able to file the WI tax return. I am going to ask for a refund for this issue.
IowaMarc's solution worked for me. Lost 1-2 hours messing before finding and trying this. TT is definitely more buggy this year than previously.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Worked like a charm!!!
Thanks for posting!!!
where are you even seeing this checkbox? I dont see this at all
@whiteguy81
This was for a 2024 bug. Based on the date of your post, I presume you're using TT 2025. This bug may not exist in 2025. With that said, there's a screenshot on page 1 of this thread that shows the issue being discussed.
To clear the red box on form 1099, do the following:
1 click on any country and code will appear in box.
2 click the box a second time and scroll up to “not applicable” and click.
3 The box will be empty and no longer red and missing state and zip code will appear
Thank you for the workaround solution. The same bug for the 2024 version of turbotax. I don't understand why it is still not fixed. Unbelievable!
THANK YOU IowaMarc! Same problem in 2025, your solution worked and is very easy to accomplish
