Can the capital contribution to an HOA and the estoppel fee paid at closing be added to the cost basis of a home?
This was a second home used for personal use only, not an investment or rental property. I know that HOA dues paid at closing cannot be added to the basis.

Unfortunately, estoppel or HOA fees cannot be added to the basis of the property, nor are they deductible expenses on a personal property.
