Can I deduct child support payments when my child is a dependent of the grandparents.

My child lives with grandparents, can I still deduct child care payments?

Child support is not deductible on a tax return, nor is it taxable for the person who receives the child support.

Only the custodial parent-----the parent (s) the child lived with can use the childcare expense for the childcare credit.

No, the child care credit would only apply if you had someone watch the child so you could go to work. Since they don't live with you, that is not applicable, also they would have to qualify as your dependent. Also, child support is not deductible under any circumstances, just child care if the child lived with you.
