CA Form 3532 for 2022

Notice of Tax Return change based on Part 1 of CA Form 3532 - they say the part 1 was either incomplete or blank.  I checked 1b per your instructions.  Is it possible that the form was not sent with that checkmark?  Or, was I supposed to check 1a - not legally married during 2022?  Please advise since I am talking to the FTB about this.
