I have 2 children aged 2.5 and 9 months. I only received the credit for one child. I’m assuming the 2.5 yo. How do I claim my 9 month old who was born in 2020? I filed my 2020 taxes right at the beginning of this year but guessing they used my 2019 taxes for the credit.

Congratulations on New Born Baby! Let's figure out how to get some funds to help with that.
#1 thing to do is get a SS# and get him/her in the system. So go to your local SS office to get that done. You will probably need a certified birth certificate. That should take care of it.
Here is a link to a good article for you to review.

He already has a ssn# and card. I added his as a dependent on my 2020 tax return as well.
Did you indicate he lived with you all year? this is critical for children born during the year. If you did not you'll need to file an amended return., there should be a child tax cr worksheet in your complete return. look at part 1 line 1. is the number 1 - then you didn't answer the questions about the newborn correctly.
Are you asking about the CTC for the new born on your 2020 return or the advance 2021 CTC ?
If the 2021 advance CTC ...
TurboTax does not know why you did not receive the CTC payment. It is possible that your payment has not posted to your account yet, or that they mailed a check and you need to watch your mailbox. If your 2020 return or an amended return is still pending you will not receive a monthly advance check.
This is a brand new system thrown together by the IRS after Congress changed tax laws in the middle of the tax season. There are going to be bugs, glitches and mistakes made and folks will unfortunately have to be patient until they sort it out.
If you do not receive the monthly payments you will be able to get the CTC on your 2021 tax return.
