As a truck owner operator I chose standard deduction. TurboTax takes me to the next page with question if I paid any toll.

Can I add toll charges when using standard deduction?

If you are a self-employed owner operator, you can deduct toll charges while working with your truck as a business expense (and not as a job-related expenses).

Deducting toll charges as a business expense is quite separate from the standard deduction. They are a business expense and are not added to the standard deduction.

Yes, you can deduct the DOT per diem allowances if you self-employed, even with the standard deduction (not if you are an employee).
