You cannot deduct the value of gifts you make (other than gifts that are deductible charitable contributions).

Are wedding gifts considered a tax write off?

Money that you receive as a gift is not taxable income to you, and you do not need to report it on your income tax return.  Money that you gave as a gift to someone else is not deductible for your taxes.

In case you were going to ask--the cost of paying for a wedding is not deductible, either.
