Are we eligible to claim the American Opportunity Tax Credit in 2019? Credit to be taken 2015, 2017, and 2018. Income too high in 2016.

Son FT student for 8 consecutive semesters.  Started in fall 2015 and expected to graduate in May 2019.

Yes, the credit can be taken for 4 years and they don't have to be consecutive years.  From what I see with the new tax law, the American Opportunity Tax Credit remains unscathed.
