Are hurricane evacuation expenses deductible if it is medically necessary to evacuate a dependent?

My elderly Mother is handicapped and my dependent and I am her sole caregiver.  It was necessary to evacuate her out of the path of Hurricane Irma for medical reasons.  Typically evacuation expenses are not deductible, however, in this case, would they be considered deductible under medical expenses?

Yes, they would be deductible as medical expenses as you had to evacuate her for medical reasons.
