I received Qualified Dividend from the broker for 2020 tax an amount of $7814.39. TurboTax calculated Adjusted Qualified Dividend of $300.59 and this is the amount appears in 1040 line 3a. This is different than for tax year of 2019 where full amount of Qualified Dividend appeared in 1040 line 3a. Does IRS changed how to use Qualified Dividend for tax year 2020? Please kindly help.

gross dividends on line 1a of 1099 need to be entered and also the portion that's qualified on line 1b.
1b can't be greater than 1a. on Turbotax 1099-div there's a section below line 12 to adjust dividends.
on the 1040 itself, total dividends appear on line 3b while qualified dividends appear on line 3a and that should be the $7800 unless there is something in the adjustment section of the 1099-DIV.
Dear Mike9241,
Thank you for your email. I could not find TurboTax 1099-DIV where there is section below line 12 to adjust dividends as suggested in your email. I am able to find only two TurboTax forms – 1099-Div and 1099-DIV Worksheet. In 1099-DIV Worksheet Box 1b shows Qualified dividends of $7,814.39 and just below Adjusted Qualified Dividends of $300.59. I would like to know calculation behind to arrive at amount of $300.59. Can you please help?
My email reply sent to TurboTax on 5/4/21was not delivered because server on your side rejected my email.
