Additional Credit and Payments- Schedule 3, line 12e

Schedule 3 Line 12e on Deferral of FUTA taxes of $22. We don't want to defer payment but make payment with the filed return. How do we fix and get this return e-filed?

The CARES Act allows certain self-employed individuals to defer self-employment taxes (social security portion).  If you prefer not to take advantage of it, you may follow the following steps:

  1. Login Turbo Tax Online.
  2. On Tax Home Screen,  click Deductions and Credits.
  3. Scroll down until you get to "Tax Relief related to Covid-19" click show more.
  4. Choose "Self -Employed  TaxDeferral,, then click start
  5. Click No on the question "Do you want more time to pay your Self-employment Taxes", then click continue.
  6. Enter Zero on "Tell us how much you'd like to defer.

Self-employment taxes  is reported on Schedule 2, Part 2, line 4..

When I print my tax returns to mail in.  It is not giving me an option to deduct the payment I made in the spring per my form 4868?

How do I correct my return?

Did you enter it?  Is it in the wrong spot like on the wrong line?  For 2020 Federal Extension payments should be on schedule 3 line 9. And go to 1040 line 31.

You can type estimates paid in the search box at the top of your return and click Find and it will give you a link to Jump To the screen where you enter Extension Payments.

To enter the amount you paid with an extension (including state extension) go to

Federal Taxes (or Personal for desktop H&B version)

Deductions and Credits

Then scroll way down to Estimates and Other Taxes Paid

Other Income Taxes - Click the Start or Update button

Next page second section Payments with Extension

Either Visit All or Click Start or Update by the extension you paid
