$250 limit for charitable contributions with no receipt

I'm doing itemized deduction this year and have some questions about the no receipt limit for charitable contributions.

We regularly contribute $15 per month to three different organizations. For each organization, our annual contribution is under the $250 limit for donations without a receipt. However, when combined, the total exceeds $250. We do have bank statements showing those transactions.

Can we still claim these contributions without receipts since each individual organization's donation is under the $250 limit? Getting receipt is a hassle and takes forever 🙂

Yes, you needn't need a receipt for claiming multiple charity organizations if the total for each are below 250 for the year.

Enter the cash donations separately for each charity into the TurboTax program.

The rules for the organization and the rules for the taxpayer are different.

The organization does not have to issue receipts under $75 for individual donation or $250 annual total.

The taxpayer is allowed to deduct the donation without a receipt, provided you have a bank record, like a credit card statement.  (But this means you can't deduct cash gifts unless the organization gives you a receipt even when not required.)
