2020 Dependent question

Hello, for my 2019 tax return, My wife and I were able to claim both of my stepsons (wife's sons) as dependents because both of them attended classes in person and online to establish them as full time students. We definitely paid more than half of their support; they also live full time with us. Their ages in 2019 were 19 and 22. For 2020, neither attended any class, and there ages were 20 and 23. They did not attend classes mostly due to their community college either canceling classes due to covid-19, or some issue with forced online class schedule changes due to covid-19, and these changes did not mesh with their work schedule.

Both of them made over $4300 in 2020.

I know life is not fair at times; however, my question is there any 2020 provision that may still allow my wife and I the ability to claim them as dependents even though they did not attend any classes in 2020?

Thank you

2020 Dependent question

You have a thorough understanding of the qualifications.  There are no changes to the requirements in 2020 that would allow you to claim the kids based on your fact pattern.
