2019 Amendment tax return
It takes the IRS time to process tax returns and update your record. As soon as the IRS is finished processing your return your record will update. The IRS currently still process over 35 million 2020 tax returns for various reasons. Also they are still processing millions of tax returns from 2019.

2019 Amendment tax return
In your question, you've stated that you filed a 2019 amended return and the IRS has acknowledged receipt of that return via a letter requesting additional time to approve the return. This is a good thing because you know that the return has been received and is being processed by the IRS. I will point out that the IRS has a backlog due to COVID and the associated tax law changes.
I will give you a couple tools to help you understand the status of this return:
1) Please check this website to follow up on the status of your amended return: https://www.irs.gov/filing/wheres-my-amended-return

I hope this helps you understand the status of your 2019 amended return!
