The online version of TurboTax does not allow direct entry onto the forms. To enter your part-year residency in Vermont:
RaifH.
In that case, you can disregard my last message. Select No to having lived in another state.
When you are beginning your Vermont return, TurboTax asks to confirm your residency on the Vermont Main Form screen. Choose Select a Different Residency.
The next screen will allow you to select Part-year resident and your dates of residency. After entering your Vermont residency period, you will need to tell the system you lived in a foreign country for the other part of the year by selecting Foreign Country or U.S. territory in the State of Residence screen.
You are, most likely, not a part year resident of VT. For tax purposes, you are a full year resident.

Yes. Thank you.
I did that. It seems to default to RESIDENT..So I select ‘Another Residency’…I click Part-time, Then enter the dates that i resided w/in the state in 2021….select Foreign country/territory…then select foreign country….And for some reason it defaults the School Code to 999…meaning NON-RESIDENT. Anyway for some reason I went through it all again and SUBMITTED in to VT….and to my surprise they ACCEpted it. Go figure. Thanks again for your help. Bill
