Enter your charitable contributions into the federal return anyway, even if you suspect that you will take the Standard Deduction.
When you get to the Minnesota return, on the screen entitled "Tell Us About Any Income Adjustments", if you scroll way down to "Miscellaneous Items", you will see that your charitable contributions have carried over from the federal return.
TurboTax will put the total amount of your charitable contributions in the box.
I am not sure if this entry appears if you don't have any entries on the federal return, but I am sure that putting the charitable contributions on the federal return will carry through to this screen.
