What does it mean if my NY state refund may need further review? Is that something to worry about?

There are a number of reasons why your NYS refund may need further review.  

1. The process is taking longer than it usually does.
2. A review for an amendment and information
3. More information may be needed

If the status changed from "Under Review, to "Your return has not yet been processed", that's a good sign.  It means that the review has been completed and has been sent for processing. The processing hasn't been completed yet, however.  For more information regarding this review and the status of your return, I recommend that you contact the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance.
