Why does TT insist that I complete and file WA State income taxes? We don't have a state incpome tax.. Lots of others are asking thre same question. When this this be repaired?

No fix is needed. Rather, the information you've input into the TurboTax program may have indicated that you are eligible for the new Washington State Working Families Tax Credit (WFTC).
Although there's not a state income tax for Washington, TurboTax has integrated the new credit into the program. Washington residents who are eligible for the credit can claim it within their TurboTax account. There's no need to create a separate submission to the state.
See the TurboTax Help article Can I file for the Washington State Families Tax Credit using TurboTax? for more information.
It would be nice if they would fix the program. I havent had children at home for over 10 years. How could there have been a trigger that indicated I qualified???
This year TT is slow, the user-friendliness has dissappered along with the new look. It also seems to lock up my computer every hour or so.
If you want to skip the WA State Working Families Credit application, please click Skip when prompted to do so.
It does not work to say "skip" the WFTC in the State Tax section. It also doesn't work to "remove State Return." It isn't removed. There is a Federal button at top with what I owe for Federal and another next to it for Washington. And I cannot print out my Federal return without "Do Not File; Form Not Final" printed on all my 2025 Form 1040-ES Payment Vouchers. Ideas?
Believe it or not, the IRS has not yet finalized the Estimated Payment Forms.
You can use the IRS Payment Portal if you need to make a payment of estimated taxes.
The IRS would probably accept your mailed check, even if the Payment Voucher says 'do not file' on it.
I disagree, and believe a fix is needed. I am in WA state, have 3 times the income and no kids, so do not even come close to the requirements for the state tax credit. TurboTax does not display the "Skip option outside of the State Taxes section. It does not accept our answers - as stated by other users before me - so it is not working in a way that supports the tax laws and expectations of TT users.
I finally was able to eFile my Federal Taxes by selecting the option that reads (paraphrased):
**No, I will file my State taxes LATER.**
Don't know what will happen "later" but decided to take my chances.
Also in WA State. I agree there should be a "fix." It's ridiculous that Turbo Tax hasn't remedied this snafu by now. I just spoke to a friend yesterday and explained to her how to work around it by saying you'll file your state return LATER.
