Hi,
My employer is based in Virginia and I live and work remotely in Florida. A few times a year I will make a trip to Virginia for some company related events however I spend most of my time in Florida throughout the year. Im reading mixed opinions online about Virginia's law around non-residents who engage in "work related activities" in the state of Virginia. The law states that if a non-resident engages in any work related activities in the state, then they would be subject to state's income tax. However, some say that this law only applies to those who own a business engaging in those activities and is not applicable to W2 employees such as myself. I hope someone can clarify if this law only applies to businesses or if it applies to both individuals and business. Also, if you happen to know of any accountants that specialize in something like this I would appreciate those referrals.
