TurboTax is using incorrect rate for La Porte County Indiana

TurboTax is using the incorrect value of 1.45% for LaPorte County Indiana Tax instead of the correct value of 1.075% (Indiana Schedule CT-40 {R21 / 9-22} ).

LaPorte County increased their income tax October 1, 2022, from 0.95% to 1.45%; TurboTax did not prorate the tax for the year and use rate from Indiana Schedule CT-40.

Pleas report that thru the Customer Support process...a software error ticket needs to be created, and won't be unless it gets reported by someone actually using the software.  i.e. it helps a whole lot if actual users get it reported thru Customer Support...often as possible..

What is the TurboTax phone number? (intuit.com)

Might already be in progress, but won't know until it is reported.  We here in the Forum have no direct access to the software folks.  Even so, check to see if it's fixed every Friday....software updates usually happen on Wed or Thur evenings.

This is not the only state tax rate issue and, to the best of my knowledge, not only were they reported but at least a couple of the "Experts" responded to posts that raised the issues.

Whether the issues will be rectified promptly is anyone's guess.

The “Customer Support process” sent me here…

There are other Indiana counties that changed their tax rates in the middle of 2022.

I will just keep checking every weekend and eventually TurboTax should hopefully figure it out before the April deadline.

As of Thursday night, January 26, 2023, TurboTax corrected the LaPorte County Indiana Tax rate for Tax year 2022.
