Let's go over the eligibility criteria to see if we can identify any potential issues:
Eligibility Requirements:
You must be married and file a joint return.
Both you and your spouse must have Minnesota taxable earned income, taxable pensions, or taxable Social Security income.
By chance was income of one of the spouse earned in another state
If either of you is a part-year resident or nonresident, the credit is based on the percentage of Minnesota income
Income Calculation: Ensure that all income included meets the IRS definition of earned income and is taxable in Minnesota
Your joint taxable income must be at least $47,000.
The income of the lesser-earning spouse must be at least $30,000.
