When trying to complete my NC state taxes for my S CORP, I elected to not include my federal return with my state return (a check box option in TurboTax NC state). When I got to the end, NC State form CD-401S Schedule G was empty and not populated as in years before from the federal information. This appears to be a bug in TurboTax. Due to this, other schedules are also incomplete (H and K). I am also unable to fill in the entries in forms mode and pass the state error check. The error check says the fields should be empty, but they should have actually been populated by the program from the federal data which is correct. I dislike the idea of purchasing a state product only to print the forms out and have to fill them in by hand.

After a long support call, it turns out this is a currently known and escalated issue, that some state tax forms are not populating correctly. I was asked to retry in 24 hrs, as an update for this issue is expected.
Any resolution to this issue? Working on my CD 401s and my schedule G is not updating from 1120S.
As of today, 03/16/2025 @ 4:11 PM, the issue is still present and affecting my state tax return. I plan to call Intuit with my incident number from before and see if any more info is available. If not, I will be asking for a refund for the state product and I guess have to use some other method. I will update this post with info I find out tomorrow.
Unfortunately, this issue is not fixed and no date on planned resolution. Customer support representative gave me the "it's a busy time of year for the team, etc.". I was also told the online solution would have been easier to resolve, but desktop is difficult and slower. I think they are putting the bulk of their efforts into online, pricier, solutions now. I was told, as a work around, that I could fill in the forms manually and print them. Of course I would have to skip the state review for errors in this case.
I have requested a refund for my state add on, as it does not work correctly and I now have to manually fill out forms with data form my federal return. Long time Turbo Tax user, business and personal, but will consider other tax software options next year.
Hope others have better luck.
