For 760C - After asking me to fill in question #3 (my 2023 income tax liability), the system fills in questions 1-10. However the calculations needed for questions 11, 13 & 14 are missing.

If you would like to send us a “diagnostic” file that has your “numbers” but not your personal information it would help. If you would like to do this, here are the instructions:

TurboTax Desktop:
If you like, you can send a copy of your return that will be scrubbed to eliminate your personal data by using these steps:
We will then be able to see exactly what you are seeing and we can determine what exactly is going on in your return and provide you with a resolution.
I am having the same problem. Turbo tax filled out form 760C but left box 3 blank. I tried to find 2023 tax liability on my 2023 form but I had a refund in 2023. How do I fill out the 2024 form?
The amount that goes on line 3 of the Form 760C is your 2023 tax liability after the spouse adjustment and credits. This is calculated as line 18 minus lines 23–25 of your 2023 Form 760.
If you filed with TurboTax last year, this amount should automatically calculate, but if it didn't you'll need to enter the information from your 2023 return into the Underpayment Penalty section of your Virginia return in TurboTax.
Thank you for responding. Turbo Tax is not entering anything there so I do need to type it in. But I had a refund last year (2023 taxes). Do I enter that as a negative amount or as 0?
No, you wouldn't enter zero unless you truly had no tax liability. Getting a refund just means that you paid in more than you needed to, but it doesn't mean you had no tax liability.
On the TurboTax screen that I provided in the screenshot on my last comment, you'll need to enter:
- 2023 tax liability (line 16 of your 2023 Form 760)
- 2023 spouse adjustment, if applicable (line 17 of your 2023 Form 760)
- 2023 nonrefundable credits (lines 23 - 24 of your 2023 Form 760 plus line 1A from Section 2 of your 2023 Schedule CR)
See screenshots below for reference.
It appears we are talking about two different forms. The one you sent in your message is different from form 760C. My question is about form 760C, not form 760. And I didn't need nor did I file a form 760 nor 760C in 2023. So my original question still stands. Thanks for your help.
We're talking about the same form. To complete line 3 of Form 760C (2023 tax liability) you need the amounts from those lines from your 2023 Form 760.
