I am completing my 2020 taxes. Federal is done but Minnesota is asking for information from 2019 and 2019. I had to replace a computer and lost the hard drive that contained the tax info from those years. I also had a copy backed up on a DVD-RW but it does not seem to be readable.
I am not sure what to do to get this information and/or be able to complete the State taxes and get everything filed. There was a $65 penalty for the Federal taxes.
Can you help?
Thanks!
Steve
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
you would need the desktop software for those prior years. then you would have to recreate the federal returns (state returns start off with the federal data). once done you would need to add the state and then enter any state info that was applicable.
you can get federal income tax return transcripts from the IRS.
Thank you!
