The question is "Which state is your $976.06 of exempt-interest dividends from?" I live in Indiana, so I chose the 'only one state' option and enter the full amount?

The edward jones account form I have has a section 'Total Income from exempt governmental obligations owned by you indirectly:'  with Indiana at $15.60 and US Territories at $47.83

No...Most of that $976 was from other state's bonds, and as-such is taxable in Indiana. Only the 15.46 and $47.83 is not.

You do not indicate it was all Indiana.

.....you check the other selection for more states, and break out the Indiana and US territory $$, and the rest is from "Multiple States" (very last selection in the list of states).
