The Missouri tax form asked me to put my MO portion of federal adjustments. I work in Missouri and put $9000 total into three 529 plans. Is the $9000 considered to be a MO portion?
No. You have to enter your 529 contributions in the Missouri state interview screen. Do not enter this as a manual federal adjustment on your return.
Please follow these instructions to enter your 529 contributions:
Contributions to Missouri 529 plans are exempt up to $8,000 per year by an individual, and up to $16,000 per year by a married couple filing jointly.
