2024 tax year, TT deluxe desktop software. I imported my 1099-DIV that includes $1000 in exempt interest dividends (box 12). On the prompt to distinguish where those exempt dividends came from I selected "earned in more than one state radio button", entered PA from the state drop down and $100 (amount that is PA tax exempt) and also another line item with "multiple states" selected and $900 (amount that is subject to PA tax). When I get to the PA state Dividend Income Summary page, there is a single line item for the $1000 and the adjustment page has the first "tax exempt" check box checked and grayed out (meaning the whole $1000 is PA tax exempt). When I did this for 2023, TT created 2 line items in the state dividend income summary; one for $100 with the "tax exempt" box checked and disabled & another for $900 with the "tax exempt" check box not checked or disabled. I believe this is a bug in the TT deluxe desktop software. Anyone else experience this issue of have a suggestion?

That's the right way to do it...sound like a bug.
Run a software update tomorrow, or Friday...and check it again then. (If the PA software also updates, sometimes a state update is issued a day later than the Federal section)
IF still a problem, then you should call customer support and get it logged in as a bug.
