Is it possible to delete and redo my state taxes on Turbo Tax even if they were amended? I need to mail the original, not the amended one. I needed to amend my federal return, which was e-filed, but I need to mail the state, which was not sent yet, so I cannot send them an amended return until I send the original.
Does TT create an original state return if I delete and redo it from the start even though the federal return is finished and has been amended? Or would it amend the state again because the federal was?
Thanks!
J
You'll need to sign in or create an account to connect with an expert.
Yes, you can delete your state return and re-create it.
In TurboTax Online, Sign in and open a section of your return.
In TurboTax Desktop, With your return open in TurboTax, switch to Forms Mode by selecting the Forms icon.
Your new state return will be built off your Federal amended return, but it is considered an original return if you haven't filed yet.
Hello,
Thanks for your response. Thanks so much for your help! I will try to do that!

It is working so far.
Is there a way to download PA Schedule A for interest income for TT online?
It is not adding it and I do not know where else to put it. It is interest paid by IRS.
Thanks!
The 1099-INT should be entered in the federal income section of the program. It will carry over to PA. It generates the Sch A automatically. I think you are dong this but it still isn't showing up. This makes me think you have a piece of data stuck.
Follow these steps:

A full or corrupted cache can cause problems in TurboTax, so sometimes you need to clear your cache (that is, remove these temporary files).

Thanks so much for your reply!
It is not carrying over. I am wondering if it is not carrying over because I am a non-resident. A non-resident does not need to pay tax on interest. I know it needs to be shown, but it is not doing Schedule A. I input the INT in income and wages under Federal and can see it there.
Can I put it in the section where it asks about Non-taxable income? There is a line that says it. And when I click to learn more, it says interest. Or does it need to be scheduled A?
Thanks
J
Yes, you can enter your non-taxable interest there.
Here's more info for Non-Residents from Pennsylvania Dept. of Revenue.
Great, thank you!
