It's been over 48 hours now and my state tax return is still marked as Pending. My Federal was accepted right away. What is the hold up? What should I do to ensure that the state return is filed?

You shouldn't do anything other than wait. State tax returns are not transmitted to the state until after the Federal return has been accepted. In addition, state e-files take longer than federal to be processed. State returns are transmitted to the IRS, and then the IRS forwards the return on to the state. The bottleneck may be with the IRS. As long as your return is not "rejected" there is nothing to be concerned about at this point.
My state return was rejected. Reject code 930. Message says that they are working with state and it should be resolved today. Still not able to fix my return.
You will be notified via email with the resolution within about 48 hours however it can take longer. Please check your email spam and junk folders also.
