State Tax - Paper based form or Efile

Hello,

I file my federal return for 2019 using paper based form as I had to apply for ITIN for my family. I have received the ITIN now and I want to file state taxes.

The question I have is since I did not eFile my federal return, do I need to file state taxes using paper based form or can I still eFile my state taxes. Please advise.

Sorry you also have to mail state.  You can only efile state if Federal was efiled and accepted first.
