I moved from Florida out of the USA in October 2023.
How do I answer the TurboTax question "Did you live in another state in 2023?"
The only program answers are "full year" or state resident since 2023.
Neither are correct for me. I was a resident of FL since 2021.

When completing the Personal Info section and you are asked for your state of residence, scroll down to the bottom of the list and select Foreign or US Possession. When asked if you lived in another state in 2023, select Florida and then the date you became a resident of a foreign country.

Thanks for the answer, however, the TurboTax software asked me" Was Florida your state of residence for 2023?
Which is "Yes" for tax purposes, but "No" for my current location. Thus the confusion.
Maybe the question should just ask, "In what state did you reside in on 12/31/2023?" and go from there to further define "residency" requirements.
The software took my 2022 information and customized the question based on that address.
Thanks for the answer, greatly appreciated!
It's asking if Florida was your state of residence because you entered a Florida Zip code when it asked for the Zip code where you lived on December 31. But you didn't live in Florida on December 31. Unfortunately it seems to remember your answer, so I think you will have to start your tax return over again to correct it.
When you start the new tax return, leave the Zip code blank for where you lived on December 31. Just click Continue. Then it will not ask you about your state of residence. Read each screen carefully - the entire screen, not just the heading - and answer the questions accurately.
Nope, I was never asked, nor had to re-enter my zip thru the step-by-step questioning. I think it took it from my 2022 download.
The recommended process from the first response worked well. I did not have to restart a new return.
Thanks for trying to help.
