I worked in Texas in 2022, and Tennessee in 2023. I had Mississippi state income tax taken out because I applied to the company while I still lived in Mississippi and never got it changed. Am I able to be refunded for those two years? or am I out of luck?
Thanks

Typically, you can file for refunds within three years of the due date of the return or filing. Having said that, a key factor in tax filing and withholding is where you actually resided.
Please clarify where you lived during the those two years and someone may be able to assist with specific instructions for your situation.

Since you did not live in Mississippi (MS) during any time you worked for the company and physically resided in Texas (TX) in 2022, and Tennessee (TN) in 2023, while you performed your job, you can file a MS return to obtain a refund for both years.
The key is that you never physically worked in MS.
The MS return would be filed with zero income and only the withholding in the appropriate line. Be sure to provide proof of residence for both years. The current tax year you can include the MS return with your federal filing.
For 2022, you should be able to prepare the MS return and print it for mailing. TurboTax will provide the instructions.
Filing requirement for MS: You are a non-resident or part-year resident with income taxed by Mississippi (other than gambling income).
