Spouses living in different states

My spouse lived in MS from May 1 through end of year while I lived in TN for entire year.  I listed both states for sales tax exemption.  It flagged my return during the Turbo Tax check.  Is this okay?

Spouses living in different states

No. You cannot claim one state for the full year and one state part year.

You could either claim TN for the full year or MS part-year and TN part-year as long as the days claimed do not add up to more than one year.
