Most of the info that carries over from your Federal return to your Kentucky State return is valid; however, you need to go through the Kentucky interview regardless.
There may be items that are taxable on your Federal return that aren't taxable in KY (pensions, for example) and vice versa. KY eliminated some itemized deductions a few years ago that may be included on your Federal Schedule A but missing on your state return.
