Sched A State and Local Taxes showing $9,999,999.99

I am working on my 2019 taxes in Turbo Tax.  I have everything entered, but when I did the Smart Check, it found an error on the Schedule A Tax And Interest Deduction Worksheet (for lines 5-12 on Sched A).

In the worksheet section for "Optional Sales Tax", for some reason on line "h" it fills in "State and Local Income Taxes" as $9,999,999.99.

I checked all the W-2's, they are all entered correctly.

This seems to be a bug of some sort where it is defaulting to this max number.

Any help?

I did resolve this with the help of TurboTax help line.  I thought I would post the resolution here in case anyone else ever has this issue.

The problem was with my 1099-DIV's and 1099-INTs.  I had imported these from my banks.  They had me delete them, and re-enter them manually.

Turns out the imported ones had checked the box that state taxes were withheld, when it wasn't actually withheld.

When I re-entered them manually, this resolved the issue.

You may want to check your entries in your Schedule A, State and Local Taxes by following these steps in TurboTax:

  1. While in your Tax Home,
  2. Select Search from the top right side of your screen,
  3. Enter State and Local Tax Refund,
  4. Select Go to State and Local Tax Refunds,
  5. Select Edit next to your State,
  6. Follow the On-Screen Prompts to check/correct entries.

Thanks.  I tried just deleting my 1099-INT forms and manually re-adding them.  That fixed it for me.  3 hours tracking this down!  I just didn't phrase my question right in the support community.  Duh.
