I'm finding conflicting information, so I'm asking here to see if I can get a straight yes/no answer. I'm a consultant living and working in GA and was hired to conduct workshops in Zoom for an educational non-profit in CA. The 1099-NEC is from the CA non-profit.
I never set foot in CA, all work was completed in GA.
Do I need to file taxes in CA?
Thanks so much!

Yes. First complete your federal return, then California non resident return and lastly your GA return. You will be given credit on your GA return for tax paid to CA.
Thank you so much. I appreciate the simplicity of your reply.
