Rejected need help!

I did my federal taxes with Jackson Hewitt, got my return and that’s all set, I went to do (what I thought was) just my state taxes on TurboTax. I did not know TurboTax automatically filed for both. At the end, I got both rejected, obviously, because my federal had already been put through and accepted. So now I’m lost. What do I do about my state taxes? Is there any online service that can file JUST state taxes? Do I have no other options but to mail in my state taxes now? I definitely need some guidance! I truly appreciate it and genuinely thank you for any help!

Not sure why you did not just do your state returns when you did federal with Jackson Hewitt.  As you have discovered, you cannot file "stand alone" state returns using TurboTax.  In order to e-file from TT, a federal return must be e-filed and accepted, or you cannot e-file a state return.   If you actually prepared a federal return using TT (and it matches what you filed already) then you could try to print and mail just your state returns.  You cannot e-file them.

You can try using the state's own tax site(s)  and see if you can prepare and file there.  Have a copy of your federal return handy to refer to--you will need information from your 2019 Form 1040.
