Received SSI Disability, why didn't i get a 1099-g form in the mail?

Hi guys,

I need help because my mom has an issue with her tax person. We live in California, my mom unfortunately got COVID 19 in July 2020. 

She was off for a month and applied for SSI Disability per job and doctor. My mom went to go to her taxes in person today. And her tax person asked, "where was her 1099-G form?" and she should've "received in the mail or find it online on the EDD site."

We never received any 1099-G form for my mom in mail. From my research,  you only get that form in the mail if you got both unemployment AND SSI Disability where it is taxable. My mom only received SSI Disability, she never had to filed of unemployment. I think my mom's tax person is getting the two confused.

Her tax person is indeed confused, or Mom misunderstood.   State=provided disability benefits may be reported on a 1099-G, but Social Security Disability is reported on Form SSA-1099.  This comes from the Social Security Admin.

However, if she is receiving only SSI (Supplemental Security Income), that is not taxable and there is no form sent for it.

Thanks for replying! Also I double checked and its the SDI she had received when she did have to do the medical leave from her job per her doctor because of COVID 19. 

But I thought both her tax person and honestly my mom had some miscommunication because I told her you would've received the 1099-G already in feb. So I think her tax person thought she got EDD Unemployment and mistaken that for the SDI part of EDD.
