In 2020, I lived and worked for part of the year in the UK so last year I applied for a Foreign Tax Credit. This year, I worked entirely in the US and had no out of country income. When I get to the Review section after filling in all Federal and State information and right before I can file, TT says that I am waiting on a Foreign Tax Credit form. It mentioned that it would be ready by a particular date, I signed in after that date passed but the date had updated. Why do I have to wait for this Foreign Tax Credit form when I have no Foreign income?

Form 1116 enables you to carry forward any unused credit balance to future tax years;
TurboTax will generate a complete 1116 with foreign tax credit even though there is no foreign tax paid for the current year as long as there are carryovers available.

Okay, so TurboTax will generate the form and I just have to wait for it to be ready? Any idea how long that could take?
Or do I need to go through my prior tax info and unselect something to resolve this issue? Where do I go to check if there are any carryovers available as I believe there shouldn't be.
You will lose any foreign tax carryovers if you delete your foreign tax credit information.
To get to the foreign tax credit/deduction section:
Continue through the screens. Towards the end of the section you will see boxes with various years for the foreign tax credit and foreign tax AMT credit carryovers.
