How many returns can I file for the $24.99 fee? Is that for each return or can I file both (MFS) for that same fee?

The $24.99 to e-file a state return is just for one return.  Each state return you e-file has a charge of $24.99.  You can mail in the return to avoid the e-file charge.  With the Desktop version, you get one free State program which you can use for more than one return.
