I updated Turbo Tax yesterday (windows version) for the Rhodes Island forms. When printing, just before filling it says (as it said before the Update) that the forms are not available. There is a bug in the update and I called support twice and cannot get them to understand. Has anyone been able to file Rhode Island?

I am also having an issue with filing the Rhode Island form. I got an email yesterday telling me the RI forms were ready, so I downloaded the updates. No matter what I try, I can't transmit RI. I already transmitted the federal return, and even got my refund. The error message I'm getting for RI doesn't tell me anything, and I can't find help anywhere that makes any difference. I have a little more hope now that I know it isn't just me. There is a problem in their software somewhere, and they make it nearly impossible to find any help on their website. I'm also using the Windows version.
So glad to see your response. Do you think they will believe two of us?
I spent about 2 hours on the phone with them. Escalated to higher tech level. Opened ticket #[phone number removed]. They finally suggested I wait a day and try again. Then they closed the ticket and sent be a satisfaction survey. I provided them with the information about my satisfaction.
Tried again to file about 30 minutes ago, same problem.
Although the RI e-file fee is not that great, they should have at least refunded it until they fixed their problem. And maybe do a little testing before they release things to users.
Sorry you had to do that Gary, it shouldn't be necessary for them to require 2 hours of your time. I'm still getting the same message when I try to transmit, 3 days later: "The Intuit Electronic Filing System is having difficulty recognizing the data in the return you are sending..." They say in the message that if it doesn't work out, I might need to file the return by mail. I didn't have anything change in my tax circumstances since last year, when I was able to efile RI fine. The problem is definitely on their end. You both should get to file RI for free just for taking the time to point out the problem to them! 🙂
I am also having the same issue. I tired filing a few days ago and it took my $20 to file then kicked back with a message saying I couldn't transmit. I thought I would try to file again today and still nothing. I've contacted my financial advisor and he said he has had no trouble transmitting state returns with the program he uses. This makes me think its an issue with TurboTax.
Yes it's definitely a turbo tax problem.
I am very excited I was just able to file my RI return. I still can't print but able to file. Hopefully will be excepted by RI.
I was just able to file my Rhode Island tax return. I still cannot print it but at least I could file. Hopefully it will be accepted.
I filed no problem. I am wondering if we need to print them out and mail them in as well. I thought I saw a message pop up asking to mail something in to RI but it disappeared before I could read it all. My RI returns have been accepted, as of now, but I'm not sure if I have to mail anything in. Anyone know?
I was also able to e-file my RI return a couple weeks ago. I didn't see any notes about sending anything in the mail. I just looked up my status with RI, and it said my return has processed, so I don't think so.
Yes, if your Form 8453 (Efile Transmission) has any boxes checked, you need to mail those forms. If not, nothing to be mailed.
Also, your Filing Instructions will tell you if anything need to be sent (usually not).
