Turbotax 2020. Ready to file, but getting message that box 14a state withholding cannot be greater than gross distribution.  Box 14 is 0.  Gross is 60,000.  Vanguard says the 1099-R is correct.

I have a similar issue. In my case state tax was withheld (at my request). The Federal distribution is greater than the amount withheld, of course, but the "state distribution" on the 1099 is zero.

You can enter the state distribution on the 1099-R form. The federal and state received their copy from the issuer. Now, you get to put your side of the story. It was all in one state, enter it.
