Massachusetts Schedule B Error: Requires Adjustment Not Yet Finalized

HI everyone, 

Just wanted to give everyone an update on my situation... it seems the patch that was released today FINALLY worked and I was able to e-file without the work around. Hopefully everyone else on here is able to, too! 🤞

Like others have said, this patch did work for me as well. Happy it finnally worked but still doesn't excuse the nearly 3 week delay we all experienced.

The update fixed the problem.  However, before the fix I had a $200 refund from the State MA and after the fix I had $0 refund.  It had to do with the MA Circuit breaker.  It showed I had $10,000 Short Term Capital Gains when in fact I had only $13 on the Federal return.  I was able to enter an adjustment for the difference, but I thought that TurboTax would have done the adjustment.

I wonder if this is what happened to me because my MA just got rejected but it says its an error from in turbo tax software and im on a holding patten to update for schedule X

Fix worked for me but just got alerted my state was rejected

Did it get rejected because of Schedule X other incomes? Because my got rejected as well but it saids that it will be automatically fix as is an internal issue. I just ran it back and the same way my Schedule X looked when i 1st file, it looks now after doing a review of it. Smh

Yeah this is annoying, im wondering if its supposed to be 0 out but in place there is a number on line 4. When reading online line 4 has nothing to do with stocks or crypto sales.

@romanluis - The patch fixed the issues and listed all the individual transactions.  The numbers matched exactly what they were went I entered just a summary on a duplicate copy.  I haven't filed yet because I am still waiting on another update which is supposed to be ready on 3/3.  I guess I'm glad I didn't try to file given the number of you who are having your MA return rejected.  I looked at Schedule X and it shows zero and I looked at last year and it also shows zero.  I'm hoping I don't get rejected when I file (hopefully next week).  Since Turbo Tax let you file, I assume Smart Check did not show any errors.  What do you do if your return is rejected but Turbo Tax is saying there are no errors?  I've never had a return rejected and I hope I don't have to figure out what to do if it is.

Correct smart check did not give me any errors when I filed this morning.. later on in the day I got the rejection from state but I got accepted from federal… when I went into state it says: 

Description of error:

Your Massachusetts tax return is on hold pending a product update to Schedule X, Other Income due to an error in our software. Please check back for updates.

What needs to be done:

There is a known internal issue on Massachusetts Sch X, Other Income that we are currently addressing in our tax preparation software. Please come back on or after February 24, 2022 and apply any product updates (online products update automatically). After applying the update, go through your Massachusetts return again, run final review, make any applicable changes if necessary, and re-transmit the return(s).

but my schedule X does show a number on line 4 we’re on previous years it didn’t so I don’t know where that number is coming from… it does allow me to e file again when ever I’m ready to re file again.

It seems my problem is somewhere with Schedule b and d Fed and State MA and with the CB (Circuit Breaker) form and worksheet.  I'll have to go thru them line by line.  It looks like the State shows Cap Gains of $10,000 but not Cap Losses of $9,900.  So this boosts my income so I don't get a state refund of ~$200.  Schedule X does'n't seen to be involved.  In any case I'll wait for more update before I actually efile either fed or state.
